The ‘Cooked in Cairns’ concept is proposed to have a number of positive outcomes:

• Nurture local singer/songwriters and performance artists
• Give structure to current entertainment programs
• Inject new and exciting talent into the existing program
• Provide a platform for further regional development ie talent sharing across other regional councils
• Provide opportunities for corporate partnerships
• Partner with media to increase promotional opportunities for the overall entertainment program
• Potential commercial sponsorship of the program
• Cross promotional opportunities within Council

It is an objective of this program to promote and showcase the Cairns Regional Council as an innovative and active supporter of our local music scene.  

How to Become a 'Cooker'?

If you are a local musician or band looking for a gig and you have some of your own original music you would like to showcase, well ‘Cooked in Cairns’ is here to give you or your band opportunities to perform at Cairns' highest profile venues, as well as key events on the Cairns Esplanade.
