Mark Lane

After year 12 and a college education, Mark started his musical career playing music in Asia and all over Europe, busking, playing concerts and educating people – pupils, adults, teachers – in matters of Australian folk and indigenious originated music, wildlife conservation and raising awareness of topics concerning Aboriginal reconciliation and integration.

He played and also organised world music concerts, was through years one of the main acts of the worlds biggest didgeridoo event (held in Austria, Bruck an der Mur).

Mark supported the Australian Koala Foundation, raising money and speaking about this endangered species in public. He worked together closely with the famous zoo in Vienna, Schönbrunner Tiergarten, where he moderated and performed annually at the Koala Days.

Mark has enjoyed working together with Aboriginal people very much. He recorded two songs together with an Aboriginal friend from the Yiddinjji, Kooby. He respects their beliefs and culture very much and has therefore always been appreciated by them in return.
